Promises2Kids’ mission is to create a brighter future for foster children®.  

From the moment they come into foster care and through to adulthood, Promises2Kids provides the hope, support, and opportunities these individuals need to change their lives for the better - now and for years to come.

Brothers and sisters who are forced to live apart in foster care will have fun opportunities to reconnect each month so they can maintain their bonds; foster youth will have the guidance, skills and resources to complete their higher education; foster children can enjoy the same extracurricular activities as their peers; and they can feel safe in their surroundings.

Through generous community supporters like you, we are able to help foster youth like Raya.

 Raya (21) has been in foster care most of her life. She entered at 5 due to neglect resulting from her parents' struggle with substance abuse. Raya was adopted, but her adoptive mother was verbally and physically abusive, so she re-entered foster care. After staying at the A. B. and Jessie Polinsky Children's Center, she moved twice and attended three high schools. Since joining Promises2Kids Guardian Scholars in 2021, Raya's creating a life she can enjoy. She's in her first year earning her Infant and Toddler Development certificate, a big step towards her career. Raya's finally happy, finding stability and support after constant movement and upheaval. She looks forward to regular meetings with her peer mentor, is active in group meetings and leadership coaching, and even joined Advocates for Change to share her story. Raya's advice to foster youth: “Don't give up, just keep going.”

Promises2Kids exists to better the lives of children who are in foster care as a result of abuse or neglect. We are dedicated to creating a brighter future for foster children in San Diego County. Through our unique programs and services, such as Guardian Scholars, Camp Connect, Something Special and the A.B. and Jessie Polinsky Children’s Center, we respond to the diverse needs of foster children of all ages, promoting lifelong skills they will carry into adulthood.
