Water is a fundamental human need. Each person on Earth requires at least 20 to 50 liters of clean, safe water a day for drinking, cooking, and simply keeping themselves clean.
Polluted water isn’t just dirty—it’s deadly. Some 1.8 million people die every year of diarrheal diseases like cholera. Tens of millions of others are seriously sickened by a host of water-related ailments—many of which are easily preventable.
Uganda is in the midst of a water crisis. 8 million Ugandans lack access to safe water and 27 million do not have access to improved sanitation facilities. Moreover, due to disparities in water access, urban people living in poverty pay as much as 22 percent of their income to access water from water vendors.
Hearts & Hope has installed 14 CLEAN water wells since 2011 and our goal for world water day 2021 is to raise money for 2-3 NEW wells to be installed in vulnerable communities which lack clean water. This would give access to water to thousands of children and families.
We have a donor willing to match $2 for every $1 donated to our Water Fund up to $10k! Help us reach our goal!
