World Central Kitchen was founded in 2010 by Chef José Andrés following the devastating earthquake in Haiti. The non-profit of chefs creates smart solutions to end hunger and poverty serving over 3 million meals this past year to victims of natural disasters around the globe.
In addition to natural disaster response, World Central Kitchen operates several long-term programs to help communities rebuild after a disaster. Some of these programs include a culinary school, bakery, and restaurant in Haiti, and a grant program in Puerto Rico to help smallholder farms and food businesses rebuild and flourish.
