LASI World Skills is a recognized leader in responding to the needs of the local labor market while promoting the skills and talents of new Canadians. Through a variety of programs and services, we address the barriers and challenges that new Canadians face in their efforts to become fully integrated into the local economy.
KWIC’s annual program includes community-based events, youth engagement and in schools activities, the sharing of human and information resources, as well as community partnerships and collaborations. KWIC hosts students for research and service learning projects, internships and alternative education placements,and visiting international speakers. Annual activities include the KWIC World Issues Café discussion series and the One World Dinner, SEEDS for Justice Youth Engagement project which hosts an annual youth-led spring conference, Global Youth Day. Global education workshops are grounded in the theory and practice of Popular Education. As an umbrella organization, KWIC supports emerging local initiatives. Kids' World is a registered non-profit society providing social services to children, teens and their families. We have been in existence since 1989 boasting over 50 volunteers that serve regularly. We are committed to facilitating children in making better choices - choices that enhance their future, not limit it. Our clients include children at risk from single parent homes, disenfranchised homes, institutional homes, as well as children at risk due to poverty.
Access to clean energy and light creates a healthy and safe home environment, enhances opportunities for education and contributes to economic development by increasing disposable income and encouraging entrepreneurship. Working in some of the most remote and undeserved areas in the world, LUTW provides technical training and builds the capacity of local service providers to transition away from unhealthy fuels and disposable batteries for energy and light. To collect unused medical supplies from local medical facilities and distribute them to countries in need, effectively limiting the negative impact on our environment and supporting health care efforts in developing countries; to send local medical personnel on medical missions to developing countries; to educate our local community about global health issues.
GFTW retrieves good usable products from businesses and industries. Through humanitarian organizations, GFTW redistributes life-saving supplies worldwide. Our goal is to keep useful products out of landfills and place them in the hands of the needy. GFTW Provides Environmentally Responsible Christian Humanitarian Aid.
