PetStay
PetStay is a Houston-based initiative that provides safe, temporary, pet-friendly housing for families in crisis. We prevent unnecessary shelter surrenders by keeping people and their pets together while they stabilize housing, employment, and healthcare. Our work includes emergency hotel/Airbnb placements, coordination with local shelters, and conversion of vacant properties into pet-inclusive transitional housing.
• Emergency pet-inclusive housing (1–30 days, extendable to 90 days as funding allows)
• Veterinary support: vaccines, microchips, urgent care coordination
• Pet supplies: food, crates/carriers, litter, leashes, bedding
• Transportation to safe housing and veterinary appointments
• Property activation: preparing vacant units for short-term, pet-safe use
