The Los Angeles County Office of Education educates the country's most vulnerable students, annually providing direct classroom instruction for thousands of young people, including children with severe disabilities, juvenile offenders and others at high risk of dropping out or with unique needs. Friends of LACOE supports the Los Angeles County Office of Education's (LACOE) programs and students in a variety of settings including juvenile court schools, county community schools, and specialized high schools; efforts on behalf of students with special education needs and disabilities; and work with school districts and other partners in ensuring educational excellence in the region. Friends of LACOE also helps provide resources for supportive learning environments for at-risk youth as well as specialized instruction and comprehensive educational services.LACOE supports 80 public school districts and numerous other agencies in ensuring educational excellence for the region's two million preschool and school-age children. LACOE is a premier provider of integrated, educational programs and services, from birth to adulthood, in a richly diverse and multicultural global environment.
