At Bridge to Home, our mission is simple but profound: provide shelter, support services, and permanent, affordable housing, and to advocate for sustainable solutions for our neighbors in need. We are more than a service provider; we are a vital part of this community, standing alongside individuals and families in their most vulnerable moments with compassion, dignity, and hope.
Every day, our team works to meet people where they are. We provide outreach on the streets with basic needs and gentle encouragement to connect with services. We offer safe, welcoming shelter in our new 18,000-square-foot service center, where guests can find stability and begin rebuilding their lives. Through mental health and medical care, we help people heal and regain strength. Through case management, we walk with them on the journey toward permanent housing, sustainable income, and the tools to thrive. And through rental assistance, we help families on the brink of homelessness stay in their homes, preventing crisis before it begins.
The impact of this work ripples far beyond those we serve directly. By helping individuals and families improve their health, stability, and well-being, we also strengthen the entire Santa Clarita Valley and Los Angeles County. Together, we reduce the need for emergency services, lower rates of incarceration, support recovery from substance use, and foster a stronger, more compassionate community that understands homelessness not as an abstract issue but as a deeply human experience.
Perhaps one of our clients said it best—a single mother of one who found herself without a home after an unexpected life event: "No one is above having the rug pulled out from under them in an instant. It’s what happened to me, and never in a million years did I think I’d be in this position."
At Bridge to Home, we believe her story—and so many others like it—reminds us that stability is fragile, but with compassion and collective effort, hope and healing are always possible.
Our work is ultimately overseen by our 18-member Board of Directors, which has led the organization through unprecedented programmatic growth and effectiveness. This effectiveness is dependent upon the members’ ability to develop meaningful partnerships and relationships with community leadership, public and private. Those partnerships reflect the Board itself, which comprises financial, civic, healthcare, hospitality, and educational leaders from around our community.
Our staff comprises 50 full-time and 15 part-time employees, who are second-to-none in partnering with those we serve to generate positive, life-changing, and sustainable outcomes in all areas. Our staff are highly trained in evidence-based disciplines, including problem-solving, trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, safety planning, and motivational interviewing. Above all the training and role-specific work is the fact that our staff genuinely care about the people and families we serve, and they are fulfilled by their collaboration with one another to solve problems and improve lives.
Our community – partners, donors, volunteers, and funders – profoundly enhances the work we do. Last year, more than 500 volunteers enhanced our programs by offering workshops, preparing and serving meals, facilitating recreational opportunities, and making numerous donations of time, expertise, and care. Our programmatic partners expand and intensify our reach and include the UCLA Health Community Care Team and Comprehensive Community Health Center who are both on-site regularly for health assessments, check-ups, and referrals, the Samuel Dixon Family Health Center and the Child and Family Center who are regularly on-site to provide counseling, and, importantly, the City of Santa Clarita, where we play a leadership role on their Community Task Force on Homelessness.
