The temperature is dangerously high in the Corinth-Alcorn Shelter, (a cement block building with no AC). Last summer they lost puppies to preventable illness that were the result of poor ventilation and temperatures that reached 103 degrees. These funds will be used to purchase a portable 12x24 building, equip it with AC, communal spaces (and individual kennels), surround it with a fenced yard, and house 8-12 of the most vulnerable dogs.
This building will be the first condo unit in the future Canine Commons on the 3-acre grassy lawn beside the shelter. The idea is to create communal housing that will not just get the dogs out of the unbearable heat, but will allow them to live with other dogs in a communal setting with free access to the outside. More units will be added as money allows. For the full story, read our post about the situation.
If you or your business would like information on sponsoring an entire condo unit, contact us at WhoWillLettheDogsOut@gmail.com. Sponsored units will be named after their donor and have their logo painted on the side.
