Supporting Economic Growth Through Equitable Innovation

A Pledge to AI Equity & Education

At Square One Startup School, our mission is simple: build a more equitable innovation economy by dismantling systemic barriers across the entire startup ecosystem—not just for founders, but for the investors who fund them and the workers who power them.

The rapid rise of Artificial Intelligence is deepening long-standing equity gaps. Diverse founders remain excluded from building AI solutions due to limited access to capital. First-time angel investors in non-tech hubs lack the training to invest confidently in startups fromtheir own communities. And marginalized workers face a growing digital divide that accelerates job displacement. Without ecosystem-wide intervention, millions risk being left out of the AI revolution entirely.

That's why we're expanding our commitment. Having trained 80+ startups that have collectively raised over $10M and already partnered to train 19 new angel investors across the Southeast, we know this model works—and we're ready to scale it. Our pledge is to strengthen every link in the innovation chain: equipping Black, Latinx, women, and rural founders with AI literacy and capital-readiness training; training first-time angel investors in non-tech hubs to evaluate deals and deploy capital locally; and preparing vulnerable workers with the technical skills needed to secure the high-growth roles these startups create.

True economic transformation doesn't happen one founder at a time. It happens when the entrepreneurs, the local funders, and the workforce in underserved communities are all moving forward together.

Your contribution directly funds three things: scholarships for underrepresented founders to access our pre-accelerator program at no cost, angel investor training in undercapitalized regions, and the launch of a new workforce development program that creates real pathways into the high-growth jobs the innovation economy is generating. Join us in building a future where potential—not proximity—defines success.
