Our grassroots organization, Amigos de los Animalitos, is dedicated to improving the lives of animals through essential veterinary services, educational outreach, and fostering initiatives.

Amigos de los Animalitos understands the challenges facing the animal population in our community, including overpopulation, disease, and lack of access to basic veterinary care such as vaccinations and sterilization. These issues are compounded by the spread of diseases like the transmissible venereal tumor (TVT), which can be devastating for the animals. Furthermore, there is an urgent need for educational programs to promote compassionate care.

We are proud to collaborate with the skilled team of veterinarians at EAN Veterinarios in León to bring necessary veterinary services to Las Peñitas. A major milestone in our journey was hosting our first sterilization clinic, where we successfully sterilized 41 dogs and cats on December 12, 2024, marking a significant step in controlling the local animal population and improving animal health. To date, we have sterilized a total of 96 dogs and cats and provided care to many others.

Our mission extends beyond immediate relief efforts; we aim to establish a permanent animal rescue and veterinary facility in Las Peñitas. This facility will serve as a beacon of hope and care, ensuring that every animal receives the love and medical attention it deserves.
