🌍 Join innovators in building a scalable model village

Current updates - September 29th:

  • We have raised +105k usd (https://www.pledge.to/atlas-united) as part of our immediate earthquake relief effort
  • In collaboration with the Pritzker award-winning architect Shigeru Ban, known for his innovative work to quickly and efficiently house disaster victims, and his team; Fayçal Tiaiba, the architectural school of Marrakech, Eric Van Hove and several other collaborators, we are installing this house as a potential model for emergency housing.

The Atlas Pangea Project:

The Atlas Pangea Project was started in early 2023 to find holistic solutions to problems in a specific region, that ranged from education to water contamination, with an aim to scale such solutions to multiple regions in the world, until a seismic event of magnitude 7 struck the region where our headquarters were planned.

Consequently, our immediate focus shifted to addressing the most urgent needs of the local community. We firmly believe that the current circumstances offer a unique opportunity to rebuild better, and enable dignified living for the communities residing in the Atlas Mountains, addressing both structural and contextual challenges facing the community. We’re therefore building a model village that will serve as a blueprint for the revitalization of other villages in the region.

The Model Village:

Our deliberate choice of Elazib village as our initial project location stems from its proximity to the future academy site and our close ties to its community, which allowed us to witness firsthand the earthquake's devastating impact. Currently, families reside in tents, lacking proper sanitation and facing the constant threat of water contamination. The natural beauty of the area is marred by an overwhelming trash problem. Young children, who once endured arduous hour-long journeys to reach the nearest school, now find themselves without access to education. Meanwhile, adequate healthcare remains a distant aspiration.

In developing the model village, we adopt an approach that is both human-centric and innovative. This model village will encompass:

  1. Physical infrastructure constructed with locally sourced materials that respect the community's way of life and the surrounding natural environment, thereby promoting sustainability and environmental friendliness.
  2. Upgraded utilities to enhance access to water, sanitation, energy, and telecommunications, with a focus on sustainable and green solutions.
  3. Enhanced access to quality education and healthcare services.
  4. Close collaboration with the community to nurture economic opportunities, capitalizing on their skills and assets.

Our vision:

The Atlas Pangea Project vision is to create an online academy with an initial campus headquartered in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco, that seeks to address some of the world's most significant challenges. These challenges hold local significance while also bearing global relevance across various sectors, including education, health, and the environment. We bring together a diverse community of problem-solvers, entrepreneurs, and innovators worldwide to collaborate on groundbreaking solutions. These solutions harness cutting-edge technologies, including AI and robotics when applicable, to create sustainable, locally impactful yet globally relevant solutions. Our objective is to establish a launchpad for future companies poised to make the most substantial contributions in resolving these pressing issues.

While initially founded in North Africa, our belief in empowering purpose-driven individuals and organizations knows no borders. By promoting global collaboration and knowledge exchange, we can collectively confront the world's most urgent challenges, harnessing the power of education, innovation, and entrepreneurship to forge a brighter future for all.
