BET, TARAJI P. HENSON, AND THE BORIS LAWRENCE HENSON FOUNDATION ARE JOINING FORCES TO HOST THE BET AWARDS HOST DINNER. OUR EVENT WILL KICK OFF OUR “1 MILLION HOURS JOY CHALLENGE” TO RAISE FUNDS AND AWARENESS FOR MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES IN THE COMMUNITIES THAT NEED IT MOST.

 WE WILL ALSO CONVENE TO CELEBRATE OUR IMPACTFUL MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONALS AND THE 22ND ANNUAL BET AWARDS.                   

BET and the Boris Lawrence Henson Foundation (BLHF), founded by Taraji P Henson, announce a Partnership to provide 1 Million hours of free mental health services to the Black community through The Joy Challenge. The duo will be ushering in a 'New Tradition of Mental Health Services & Care for the Black Community. Offering resources, connections, and support, hassle-free, as needed, to help break the silence and stigma around mental health services. Free mental health services and safe spaces will be available in community centers, partnering not-for-profits, entertainment and sports centers, urban school districts, salons, and barbershops. The menu of services will also be available in non-traditional settings such as Wellness and Respite Containers on HBCU campuses, tv/film set locations, recording studios, locker rooms, Festivals, and Conferences. The partnership will provide pathways to peace and well-being to ensure that individuals in the Black community can choose Joy Over Everything.
