The Jewish Federation is partnering with Kibbutz Kissufim, one of the 22 communities attacked by Hamas terrorists on October 7th. The Federation is committed to a long-term partnership with the Kibbutz to help its members heal and recover from this unimaginable attack. Members of Kibbutz Kissufim needed to evacuate on October 7th and lived in a hotel in the Dead Sea for 10 months. In September, the Kibbutz members moved to Omer, a suburb of Beersheva where they will live until its safe to return to Kibbutz Kissufim. The Federation is going to be helping by providing informal education to the youth, giving trauma support, and mentors for children and families from Kissufim. They also plan to send the Kissufim teenagers to a summer camp in the States in 2025 to continue the healing process.
