CNN Heroes 2026

 What started with one stray cat in their yard has grown into a nonprofit tackling Southern California’s overwhelming community cat crisis. Founded by Jaina Spagis and her wife, Ivy, Cats of San Bernardino now leads trap-neuter-return efforts; rescues and rehabilitates high-need cats; and has placed roughly 2,000 cats and kittens into homes, with nearly all of its funding coming from a loyal social media community.
