Our fundraising campaign exists to expand the reach of the Social Justice Learning Institute, providing underserved students in the Houston area with the educational opportunities and cultural exposure they deserve. After ten years in education—serving as a teacher, counselor, and mentor—I have seen firsthand how transformative the right support can be. When young people are equipped with guidance, resources, and belief, their opportunities greatly multiply. This work is especially vital for students of color, who too often must navigate barriers that obscure their brilliance and potential. Your support helps them actualize their goals, rewrite what’s possible, and step boldly into the futures they were always meant to have.

This year, as our communities navigate change and uncertainty, SJLI is doubling down on what we know to be true: real, lasting transformation begins with investing in young people.
Our 2025 End-of-Year Campaign celebrates the power of education to open doors, build confidence, and ignite leadership. At SJLI, we remain rooted in our mission to empower students through academic and career access, youth development, socio-emotional support, and social justice leadership.
