Faelin the Gypsy Diva

Welcome to the fundraiser page for "Faelin" the Gypsy Diva (18 year old Gypsy Cob), a dedicated initiative aimed at supporting this beautiful mare in continuing to lead a supportive and healthy life. We invite you to join us in this heartfelt mission to ensure that "Faelin" receives the care and love she deserves, all while benefiting the incredible nonprofit organization, Melody's Haven of Hope at Oregon Horsemanship.  

A phone call, a horse needing to land in a forever home where she could be loved and cared for "Faelin" came to us as a blessing. Her owner had passed away and we were called and asked if we would be a place where she could land. She was originally a rescue out of Texas, an organization in California came to her aid and moved her cross country, then off to Oregon to live her life. She is educating many on this unique breed that you don’t often find at a barn like ours. Gypsy’s were selectively bred to create the perfect horse to pull the Gypsy caravan and have only been in North America since 1996. They are now being used in all disciplines and  "Faelin" is talented in so many ways. Stunningly beautiful, she greets many at our barn with her regal, diva attitude. "Faelin" needs regular medications to help her age well along with body work and acupuncture.  During the summer "Faelin" contracted septic peritonitis in July and spent over 9 days at Oregon State University just barely surviving.  The head of the department and the amazing resident felt we could save her life through extensive medical intervention.  It was extremely stressful for our founder who spent every day with her at the University  "Faelin" needed to know we were there for her.  The daughter of the women who "Faelin" belonged too helped us fundraise to save her life.  The community came together and rallied to help.  Than 6 weeks later the day before she was supposed to get another belly tap, "Faelin" coliced and then had kidney issues.  Another hospital stay, more expenses, more stress, more hope and she pulled through.  She is the Diva at the barn and we could use help continuing to pay off her extensive bills, but also her monthly care.  We appreciate everyone who believes in and pulls together for this amazing mare that has much more to give to this world.
