From Uncertainty to Safety: Help Us Rescue 15 Cats from the Middle East

We’re on a mission to bring 15 cats from the Middle East to safety — and we can’t do it without you.

For those new here, Sip & Purr works closely with our local shelter partner, helping hundreds of cats find loving homes right here in our community. At the same time, we've spent years doing hands-on rescue work overseas and have seen firsthand the realities these cats and their rescuers face. We knew we couldn't turn on our backs on it. Today, we're one of the only cat cafes in the U.S. that routinely rescues and rehomes cats from abroad, bringing them to safety and into homes here in Wisconsin. 

We’re working alongside our trusted partner, Street Cats of Oman in Muscat, an incredible group of everyday people doing extraordinary work. Without formal shelters, adoption infrastructure, or reliable resources, they are on the front lines every day—rescuing cats from the streets, providing medical care, and fighting for lives that would otherwise be overlooked.

The reality is heartbreaking: there are little to no adoption pathways in Oman. For many of these cats, their only chance at a safe, loving home is through international transport.

This is where Sip & Purr steps in — and we can't do it without you.

Through our Scholarship Adoption Program, we're able to support select cats with additional care and placement resources, ensuring they not only make it here safely, but are set up for long-term success.

We’ve rescued and placed over 360 international cats, and these partnerships are deeply personal. These aren’t strangers—we’ve met these rescuers, we’ve seen the conditions firsthand, and we stand behind their work because we believe in building meaningful, global rescue connections.

Sip & Purr is also the featured rescue in the documentary 25 Cats From Qatar, which follows our international rescue efforts. If you've seen the film, you've alread witnessed the realities these cats and their rescuers face — and understand why this matters so deeply.

In addition to the daily challenges of street rescue, these cats and their rescuers have also been navigating ongoing regional instability, making their efforts even more urgent and difficult.

Our initial goal is $5,000 to help get this mission underway, though the full cost to transport and care for these 15 cats is closer to $8,000.
