Fill the Loft with Hay. Feed the Horses Who Depend on Us
Last December, we reached out in a moment of real need. Our hay supplier was facing unexpected challenges, and something as simple—and essential—as hay suddenly became uncertain. And you showed up.
Because of the incredible generosity of our supporters and donors, we were able to fill that gap. The loft was stocked, the horses were fed, and we were reminded that this community stands behind every horse who calls Melody’s Haven of Hope home. Now, we’re preparing ahead for the new hay year… because the need hasn’t gone away.
This year, many of our horses—especially our seniors and those with metabolic challenges—require low-sugar, high-quality hay to stay healthy, comfortable, and thriving. This isn’t just better hay—it’s necessary care. And it comes at a higher cost. On top of that a third of the herd need a specific type of hay that is even $4.00 more a bale.
What It Really Takes
Each horse eats 16–18 pounds of hay every single
day
That’s approximately:
As a herd, we go through:
Help Us Fill the Loft
Every bale matters. Every donation goes directly to keeping hay in front of horses who depend on us—not just to survive, but to live comfortably and with dignity.
Because for them…hay isn’t just food. It’s health. It’s comfort. It’s life.
And for us—it’s how we keep our promise: that they will always have a place where they are safe, cared for, and never forgotten
With gratitude from the herd,
