Altadena Girls began in the wake of the Eaton Canyon Fire, when our community was reeling. Avery, just 14, saw her friends carrying more than what the flames had taken—they carried loneliness, loss, and shame.What started as a small act of care grew overnight into a grassroots movement, reminding us of something bigger:
Girls don’t just need support in times of crisis. Even before the fire, too many lacked safe spaces to belong, connect, and thrive! Please donate what you can so that Altadena

We are living in a very dark time, and girls need all the support they can get so we can eventually oust all the idiot men in power!
About This Fundraiser
Welcome to our fundraiser, "Altadena Girls-Giving Campaign" in support of Altadena Girls.Â
Altadena Girls was created by Avery Colvert, a remarkable 14-year-old from Altadena, CA. What started as a simple effort to provide clothing and necessities for her classmates who had lost their homes and belongings in the Eaton Fire in January 2024, has grown into a national movement. Altadena Girls is now a beacon of giving, community, connection, resilience, and opportunity.
Our mission is to provide impactful and high quality free programs for teen girls based in: movement, creative arts, music and wellness in a safe, supported and joyful space, ensuring our girls have access to resources that nurture their growth. Our community center, designed by and for teen girls, opened on October 11, 2025 and features a free boutique offering fashion and wellness items, a music and podcast studio powered by Fender, a yoga and movement space, and an arts and entertainment "Sliving Lounge" co-designed with Paris Hilton.
Why is this so important now? Nearly 3 in 5 teen girls feel persistently sad or hopeless, and we know in-person connection can play a crucial role in safeguarding mental health. It's essential to provide spaces where girls can authentically be themselves without judgment.
With your support, we can deliver the our mission alongside our expert staff, and maintain all programs at no cost to participants.
