Over the last 30 years, our mission has evolved from helping homeless pregnant women to homeless women with children, who may or may not be pregnant, and victims of human trafficking and domestic violence. This evolution is a result of our community suffering from a significant increase of welfare reform and human trafficking. We provide a safe shelter in a stable, caring, structured home environment. We provide individualized goal-oriented programs. We provide opportunities that empower women to break free of the welfare cycle to become independent contributing members of society. We cherish life, honor motherhood, and empower women. Helping Mothers Connect to Mother Nature: A collaboration between New Life Beginnings (NLB) and Roots For Change (R4C) Our collaboration enables us to not only offer programming and housing that help homeless women and children in need but also to teach them how to farm and live a sustainable life. Roots For Change (R4C) R4C is a nonprofit organization focused on building tropical food forests in order to raise the local farming wages and combat food insecurity. Fruit and nut trees have the power to not only address a warming climate but to empower communities to build soil, preserve biodiversity and foster a cleaner, healthier ecosystem and economic environment for generations to come
