Honoring Our Fathers and the Father Figures Raksha Serves

About This Fundraiser

This Father's Day, Raksha invites you to donate in honor of or as a tribute to the men and father figures in your lives who broke barriers, defied expectations and social norms and chose safety over silence.

Raksha, meaning "protection" in several South Asian languages, serves the South Asian community in Georgia through confidential support services, education, and advocacy. We work with survivors of domestic and sexual violence - and we know that in communities where family honor is often placed above justice or a survivor's pain, when a father figure chooses differently - it is not only powerful and life-changing, it can break generational cycles.

This fundraiser honors those men. It also supports the fathers and father figures within the communities Raksha serves — men who are navigating their own paths toward healing, accountability, and change.

Do you know a father figure like this?
If someone in your life stepped in to protect instead of looking away or chose to champion justice and healing over silence or social norms - we want to hear about them. Share their story with us. A father who breaks a cycle deserves to be celebrated!!
We would love to spotlight these moments of courage in honor of Father's Day (June 19) and/or Men's Mental Health Month (June).
A note: If you request anonymity, we will honor it without questioning. Any story we share publicly will include only what you have given us permission to use. We may only choose to share relevant excerpts to highlight the impact of a father's choice and actions. We will never share personally identifiable information. These spotlights exist for one reason: to celebrate the men and father figures who chose to protect, to stand with survivors, and to show their families a different way forward. Nothing more.
