John Wolfinger Memorial
Organized by Virginia‑Highland Security Patrol
Neighbor, gardener, and tireless public safety advocate
John Wolfinger helped stitch VaHi together with his many acts of care and friendship.
The "John Wolfinger Memorial" fundraiser is a heartfelt initiative dedicated to honoring the legacy of an extraordinary individual who played a pivotal role in shaping the safety and security of our Virginia-Highland Community. John Wolfinger not only founded our neighborhood watch program in 2007 but also dedicated his life to actively serving as a street captain and a board member of the Virginia-Highland Security Patrol. His tireless commitment to enhancing public safety and fostering community spirit was truly inspiring.
John's dedication extended beyond patrolling; he was a key figure in coordinating the annual holiday toy drive donations for our APD Zone 6, spreading joy and warmth during the festive season. His sudden passing in July 2025 has left a void that is deeply felt by everyone who knew and benefited from his selfless contributions.
In honor of John's memory and his unwavering commitment to community safety, we are raising funds to create a permanent memorial in the neighborhood. Any funds not needed for this purpose will go to support the Virginia-Highland Security Patrol, a nonprofit organization that employs off-duty Atlanta Police and deputy officers to conduct additional, member-funded neighborhood patrols. These efforts are crucial in reducing crime and enhancing the safety of residents through regular foot and vehicle patrols, house checks, and public safety communications.
By contributing to this fundraiser, you are helping to preserve and continue the critical work that John was so passionate about, and ensuring that his contributions will not be forgotten. Your support will help maintain a secure and thriving community, ensuring that Virginia-Highland remains a place where residents can feel safe and connected.
Please join us in honoring John Wolfinger's legacy and ensuring his vision for a safer Virginia-Highland lives on. Your generosity is greatly appreciated and will make a significant difference in our neighborhood. Thank you for being part of this meaningful cause.
