On August 23rd, the Ladies of Freestyle Love Supreme Academy, backed by Cole Porter’s piano at The Waldorf Astoria NYC, invite you to join an interactive performance benefitting a new scholarship for female-identifying artists at the Freestyle Love Supreme Academy.
Freestyle Love Supreme Academy was founded in 2018 with the mission of fostering diverse creative voices using improvisation and freestyle rap. FLS Academy is deeply committed to creating and maintaining an environment in which all individuals are treated with dignity and respect.Their performances and classes are built on the foundation of inclusion, equity, diversity and creativity.
The Ladies of FLSA show will establish a new scholarship initiative in partnership with The Great Globe Foundation to send female identifying students to Freestyle Love Supreme Academy regardless of their financial ability.
The Great Globe Foundation, founded by theater artist Michael Littig, is a US based non-profit dedicated to creating artistic exchange with artists and students across cultures, most notably with youth from the Dadaab Refugee Camp on the border of Somalia for over a decade.
Its partners include Freestyle Love Supreme Academy, the UNHCR, US State Department, The Zuckerberg Institute, and The Open Program of the Workcenter of Jerzy Grotowski and Thomas Richards in communities ranging from Alabama, the Bronx, Brooklyn, Italy, and Kenya.
