• CHOSA believes that every South African child is entitled to grow up in a safe, healthy and nurturing environment. By empowering people to not only address child poverty but also to confront the forces that sustain a community’s impoverishment, sense of powerlessness and oppression, we hope to achieve that vision.

What We Do:

• CHOSA provides capacity-building services and financial support to grassroots projects in Cape Town serving orphaned and vulnerable children. These include children's homes (orphanages/foster homes), schools, preschool/daycare centers, after-school programs, and more

Ways our partners have gone above and beyond and inspired us this year:

• When many people lost their jobs and struggled to find food for their households, our CHOSA partners stepped up and created a local soup kitchen.
  

• When schools were closed and children didn’t have access to educational materials, teachers went house to house dropping off learning packets to make sure the children wouldn’t fall behind. 

• When your support allowed CHOSA to offer emergency grants to purchase sanitizer, masks, and food, 498 children and their families were able to receive much-needed support and assistance.
