Red (Quarter Horse Gelding)

Welcome to the fundraiser page for "Red"(Quarter Horse) gelding, a dedicated initiative aimed at supporting this beautiful gelding in continuing to lead a supportive and healthy life. We invite you to join us in this heartfelt mission to ensure that Red receives the care and love he deserves, all while benefiting the incredible nonprofit organization, Melody's Haven of Hope at Oregon Horsemanship.  

What is one more? Red was a little different and came to us through a Cowboy Dressage friend. For unknown reasons we felt he needed to be with us and, even though we really didn't have the space, we managed to make enough room. He is quite a talker and nickers to welcome everyone. Finding out he has severe arthritis in pasterns, knees, and hocks he had to retire from riding.  Most of the “damage” was done before he was 8 years old from what we found, He misses having a job to do but thank goodness through those who love him, he knows he is cared about. He is a heart-stealer and we will give him the best rest of his life that is possible. He requires several supplements and medications to help keep him comfortable in his retirement, as well as special shoes every 8 weeks.
