World Ocean Day Fundraiser

This week marks a momentous time in the ocean conservation space: the kick-off of #WorldOceansWeek, where stakeholders around the globe will be meeting, planning, and advocating for increased protections for our planet's life source. At Beneath The Waves, we believe life below the surface is vital to the survival of our world above. Our research is advancing global conservation efforts every day, but we still have a lot to learn from our blue planet... And we can't do it without you.

Each of us plays a part in advancing ocean research, and the time is now to take action. This year's World Ocean Day theme, Planet Ocean, emphasizes the need to continue to protect and invest in the ocean. The ocean covers 71% of the Earth's surface, and more than 80% of the ocean is yet to be explored... But ocean research and conservation has received less than 1% of all philanthropic funding since 2009, and remains the least funded of all the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
