Cancer took my grandmother away from me within one year of her diagnosis, I have seen so many friends and family members be sick with cancer and be sick from the stress of their loved ones with cancer, I always told my grandmother when she lost her hair that she could have mine but I never got to give it to her, so I wanna grow and grow hair for all the people who have lost it, to be their voice and their friend.
Welcome to "Growvember," a creative and powerful movement to support the American Cancer Fund as we unite in the fight against ALL cancers and support men's health initiatives. This November, we invite you to let your hair, beard, or mustache grow as a symbol of support and solidarity for those impacted by cancer. By participating in Growvember, you are helping us further our more than 60-year mission of educating, supporting, and empowering individuals diagnosed with cancer.
At the American Cancer Fund in partnership with the American Cancer Association, we are dedicated to providing reliable, independent information and research that enables patients and their families to make informed decisions about their treatment options. Our focus is not just on fighting cancer but on enhancing the quality of life for those affected, emphasizing an educated approach to cure, functionality, and dignity. Our mission encapsulates this commitment with four guiding principles: Educate, Navigate, Research, and Empowerment.
Your generous contributions during Growvember will directly support our efforts, as 92 cents of every dollar donated goes towards critical areas such as patient research, cancer education, prevention, and disease navigation. Whether you choose to honor a survivor, remember a loved one, or contribute to the cause in general, your tax-deductible donations will play a crucial role in saving lives and improving outcomes for countless individuals.
Join us during November (and beyond for the latecomers) by embracing the spirit of Growvember, an initiative that not only raises awareness but also unites communities in the fight against cancer. Together, we can make a significant impact and bring hope to those on their cancer journey. Let your hair grow, spread the word, and make your donation today. Together, we can educate, navigate, and empower to save more lives. Let's grow for a cause!
Well, what a fabulous full week of growvember. It’s already one third of the way through the month and the response has been terrific. Hackensack, NJ Police and Ontario, CA police are current pack leaders with Coral Gables, FL close behind. There are now 35 teams raising nearly $20,000 from police departments and multiple businesses along with 16 individuals that created peer to peer campaigns nearly doubling that amount to support our fight against cancer. We Love You! We are excited to see what those individual teams have raised. And we love all the beard pix.
Have you watched the youtube video from our ambassador Johnny Knox – Former Chicago Bears WR... Wait 'til you see halftime!
Keep ‘hairy’ now and keep spreading the word. Yes, ladies can certainly participate too. Forgo the haircut or other grooming expense and use the dollars you save to help us fight this battle against cancer.
Remember, you can send your donations in at any time or wait until the end of the campaign. And to answer the questions about accepting checks, for those who prefer to mail a check, the secure mailing address is:

Until halftime, we remain…. HAIRY
Thank you to all who have donated to the American Cancer Fund and supported our cancer prevention, research, education, and assistance programs.
It’s NOW officially GrowvemberTM and we warmly welcome all the hairy growers out there. Remember it’s all that hairy stuff; Beards, Mustaches, and your Hair so both men and women are encouraged to participate.
As November starts, we wanted to give you an update on our GROWvember campaign beginning. Woo Hoo! Johnny Knox, the former Chicago Bears wide receiver has become our official ambassador and will be in Chicago to support us starting on 11/7 through the Bears VS Giants game on 11/9. Online we have received over $8,500 in donations and the external donations (checks and pledges) are nearly double that. 22 teams have already signed up to participate (and many more are coming guys) and there are already over 150 donors. Our donors are located all over the USA and we have also received donations from Germany, the UK, and Mexico. What a great way to start!

Keep up the great work. And a special shout out to the Hackensack Police and Coral Gables Police for leading the campaign fundraising.
