Ontario POA 2026 No-Shave November

💕 A Message from Augustine:

Each November, members of the Ontario POA set aside their razors and unite for a cause that goes far beyond the badge. Participating in No Shave November is our way of standing with those fighting cancer honoring families and community members affected by this disease.

By embracing a little extra scruff, we aim to raise awareness about the importance of cancer prevention, research, and support services. Every dollar raised through this campaign goes to the American Cancer Fund, helping fund life-saving research and providing vital resources to those in need.

Our beards may grow, but so does our commitment to making a difference, one whisker at a time. Together, we serve our community not only through protection, but through purpose.

Stop Shaving and Growvember

Welcome to "Growvember," a creative and powerful movement to support the American Cancer Fund as we unite in the fight against ALL cancers and support men's health initiatives. This November, we invite you to let your hair, beard, or mustache grow as a symbol of support and solidarity for those impacted by cancer. By participating in Growvember, you are helping us further our more than 60-year mission of educating, supporting, and empowering individuals diagnosed with cancer.

At the American Cancer Fund in partnership with the American Cancer Association, we are dedicated to providing reliable, independent information and research that enables patients and their families to make informed decisions about their treatment options. Our focus is not just on fighting cancer but on enhancing the quality of life for those affected, emphasizing an educated approach to cure, functionality, and dignity. Our mission encapsulates this commitment with four guiding principles: Educate, Navigate, Research, and Empowerment.

Your generous contributions during Growvember will directly support our efforts, as 92 cents of every dollar donated goes towards critical areas such as patient research, cancer education, prevention, and disease navigation. Whether you choose to honor a survivor, remember a loved one, or contribute to the cause in general, your tax-deductible donations will play a crucial role in saving lives and improving outcomes for countless individuals.

Join us during November (and beyond for the latecomers) by embracing the spirit of Growvember, an initiative that not only raises awareness but also unites communities in the fight against cancer. Together, we can make a significant impact and bring hope to those on their cancer journey. Let your hair grow, spread the word, and make your donation today. Together, we can educate, navigate, and empower to save more lives. Let's grow for a cause!

Yes, it’s beginning to look a lot like GROWVEMBER!

And this November, we’re growing something bigger than hair. We’re growing HOPE, AWARENESS, SUPPORT, and a MOVEMENT to fight ALL CANCERS!

Introducing GROWVEMBER 2026 — our bold, creative, nationwide campaign benefiting the American Cancer Fund in partnership with the American Cancer Association, and supporting men's health initiatives. This is your opportunity to turn a little facial hair, a new look, and a whole lot of team spirit into something truly meaningful: making a difference in the lives of people affected by cancer.

Why just grow a mustache, or forget the trim, when you can grow hope? Why participate alone when you can build a team and make an even bigger impact?

Whether you’re growing a beard, sporting a mustache, putting down the razor, or rallying friends, family, coworkers, and your community around a common cause, GROWVEMBER gives everyone a way to get involved. Every team formed, every dollar donated, and every conversation started helps shine a light on the fight against cancer.

A special shout out to Raritan PBA Local 82  and it's 12 donors so far. Thanks for the major kick-off, James!!! also as of 10/28 we have over 40 donations just from the Ontario, California Police team. All of you team leaders and teams are making a great start!

And this fight is bigger than any one cancer. GROWVEMBER stands for ALL cancers, ALL those impacted, and ALL of us who believe that together we can make a difference.

By creating a GROWVEMBER team, you’re doing more than joining a campaign. You’re inspiring others to take action, raising vital funds, and helping advance the American Cancer Fund’s more than 60-year mission of educating, supporting, and empowering individuals diagnosed with cancer.

So, gentlemen and ladies, it’s time to put down those razors and the scissors, embrace the growth, rally your people, and spread the word!

CREATE YOUR TEAM. GROW YOUR SUPPORT. MAKE YOUR DONATION.

Let’s make GROWVEMBER 2026 bigger, bolder, and more impactful than ever. Because when we grow together, we can help change lives — one team, one donation, and one act of support at a time.

This November, don’t just grow hair. GROW HOPE! Join GROWVEMBER 2026 and help the American Cancer Fund make a difference in the fight against ALL cancers.

Mid month update. It’s halftime. Woo Hoo! We’ve made it halfway through the month of Growvember. Growing your hair and being ‘hairy’ is making a mark in communities all around the world and especially here in the US. Folks are discussing men’s health and preventative health screenings. Way to go! Please keep spreading the word. Tell everyone why you’re ‘hairy’. And… don’t forget to send your group or personal fundraiser page info o your circle of friends for their donations. Let’s have some fun doing this folks. Get creative and share your news..As of today, 11/17 our fantastic individual donors and teams have raised over $22,000…on our main online campaign platform as well as another $6,837on a subset of campaigns and individual peer to peer campaigns in our name. Yes, there’s a lot of ‘hairy’ out there as we have also received dozens of checks in the mail too! Our main campaign alone covers over 445+ donors and more than 40 teams. We can also thank our international donors from Germany, the UK, Mexico, and Portugal...Just to keep you all on your toes and competing, Hackensack, NJ PD is still leading the main campaign with $3,850 donated. Thank you Hackensack, NJ! With the involvement of so many dedicated participants we are hoping to exceed our initial goal of $75,000. These funds will be used to support research, cancer patients and their families, cancer education, patient research, and early detection methods via preventative health screenings. Stay ‘hairy’! Show your stubble success (or progress perhaps)…Don’t forget to send us your Growvember pix and tag us on social media.. americancancerfund #growvember

Well, what a fabulous full week of growvember. It’s already one third of the way through the month and the response has been terrific. Hackensack, NJ Police and Ontario, CA police are current pack leaders with Coral Gables, FL close behind. There are now 35 teams raising nearly $20,000 from police departments and multiple businesses along with 16 individuals that created peer to peer campaigns nearly doubling that amount to support our fight against cancer. We Love You! We are excited to see what those individual teams have raised. And we love all the beard pix.

Have you watched the youtube video from our ambassador Johnny Knox – Former Chicago Bears WR... Wait 'til you see halftime!

Keep ‘hairy’ now and keep spreading the word. Yes, ladies can certainly participate too. Forgo the haircut or other grooming expense and use the dollars you save to help us fight this battle against cancer.

Remember, you can send your donations in at any time or wait until the end of the campaign. And to answer the questions about accepting checks, for those who prefer to mail a check, the secure mailing address is:

Until halftime, we remain…. HAIRY

Thank you to all who have donated to the American Cancer Fund and supported our cancer prevention, research, education, and assistance programs.

It’s NOW officially GrowvemberTM  and we warmly welcome all the hairy growers out there. Remember it’s all that hairy stuff; Beards, Mustaches, and your Hair so both men and women are encouraged to participate.

As November starts, we wanted to give you an update on our GROWvember campaign beginning. Woo Hoo! Johnny Knox, the former Chicago Bears wide receiver has become our official ambassador and will be in Chicago to support us starting on 11/7 through the Bears VS Giants game on 11/9.   Online we have received over $8,500 in donations and the external donations (checks and pledges) are nearly double that. 22 teams have already signed up to participate (and many more are coming guys) and there are already over 150 donors. Our donors are located all over the USA and we have also received donations from Germany, the UK, and Mexico. What a great way to start!
