Products meet the moment. The movement changes what happens next.
A period should never get in the way of opportunity. Yet 24% of teens struggle to afford period products, and 1 in 3 miss class time because of it.
I started working on period poverty in high school, when I founded a PERIOD. chapter in Sacramento. Since then, I’ve served on the Youth Advisory Council and Board and organized in New York. I’ve seen why meeting immediate needs must go hand in hand with changing policies.
This Period Action Day, consider giving what you might spend on a coffee, takeout, or night out, whether $5, $25, or $50, to support on-the-ground organizers and youth leaders.
[UPDATE: GREAT NEWS: Our partners at Aerie are DOUBLING your impact this year! Between now and October 10, they are matching EVERY SINGLE donation up to 25k!!]
Period Action Day (PAD) is the moment when the menstrual movement comes together around a shared goal: donate 1 million period products and fund the work that keeps change moving all year long. Why is this important? Because in the United States alone:Â
Cost and silence have turned something ordinary into a barrier to school, sports, confidence, and opportunity. No one should lose a seat in class, a spot on a team, or sense of self-worth because of their period.
This Period Action Day, give to help build a future where having a period no longer stands in the way of opportunity.Â
