charity: water is a non-profit organization bringing clean and safe drinking water to people in developing nations. We inspire giving and empower others to fundraise for sustainable water solutions. We use local partners on the ground to build and implement the projects. Then, we prove every single project funded, using GPS coordinates, photos and stories from the field. We have funded 91, 414 water projects, aimed to serve 14, 762, 215 people in 29 countries. We believe that sustainable work is locally-led. Water School empowers communities through a 3-Step program, which integrates sanitation and hygiene education with a simple and sustainable water treatment technology called Solar Disinfection (SODIS). With this process, water from the local supply is placed in clear plastic bottles and set in the sun where ultraviolet rays disinfect the water. Hours later, that dirty water is now clean and safe to drink. It’s that simple. Water School goes beyond SODIS and works with schools to teach students sanitation & hygiene basics such as hand-washing and the importance of using latrines. This life changing information ensures children and their families have the knowledge they need to prevent disease, stay healthy and access clean water for life! Learn more at www.waterschool.com
