charity: water

charity: water is a non-profit organization bringing clean and safe drinking water to people in developing nations. We inspire giving and empower others to fundraise for sustainable water solutions. We use local partners on the ground to build and implement the projects. Then, we prove every single project funded, using GPS coordinates, photos and stories from the field. We have funded 91, 414 water projects, aimed to serve 14, 762, 215 people in 29 countries. We believe that sustainable work is locally-led. Along with implementing community-owned water projects, our local partners help facilitate comprehensive water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) programming to protect everyone’s long-term health.

The Living Water Project

The Living Water Project is an effort to fund clean and accessible water for people in impoverished areas of the world, thereby also extending to them the love of God.Our clean water projects are often done to supplement the work of established holistic ministries. Through a grant application and selection process, we choose and support a ministry by providing the people they serve with clean water in order to relive that burden both financially and logistically. This gives them more time and money to extend additional services to their communities. We finance, support, and participate in the construction of clean water projects all over the world. Because we are completely volunteer-run, 100% of all funds raised go directly toward funding clean water projects.

Our mission is simple: Water for South Sudan delivers direct, transformative and sustainable quality-of-life service to the people of South Sudan by efficiently providing access to clean, safe water and improving hygiene practices in areas of great need. This mission is inspired and led by our founder, former “Lost Boy” Salva Dut. South Sudan is the world's newest country, achieving its independence from the Republic of Sudan on July 9, 2011. It is one of the world’s poorest countries, and is about the size of Texas in the US. Part of Water for South Sudan’s mission is also to develop basic infrastructure in the world’s newest country. The people in our operating area are often underserved by the larger international humanitarian and government-sponsored relief organizations. Water for South Sudan fills those gaps by drilling for life’s basic necessity, water.
