Water School empowers communities through a 3-Step program, which integrates sanitation and hygiene education with a simple and sustainable water treatment technology called Solar Disinfection (SODIS). With this process, water from the local supply is placed in clear plastic bottles and set in the sun where ultraviolet rays disinfect the water. Hours later, that dirty water is now clean and safe to drink. It’s that simple. Water School goes beyond SODIS and works with schools to teach students sanitation & hygiene basics such as hand-washing and the importance of using latrines.
