From Venmo to PayPal, Crypto & More… Innovative ways to give through Pledge! 📣

July 3, 2023

When it comes to giving, we believe in embracing a wide range of options because the more, the merrier! As a study by Barna (2023) found, 44% of U.S. adults are digital donors, and 7 out of 10, are not only open to new forms of giving, but they also feel confident being generous through digital and electronic tools. Additionally, according to a Giving Tuesday 2022 report, last year online donations in the U.S. crossed the $1 billion mark for the first time ever!

From emerging and innovative technological giving options such as Venmo, Cryptocurrency, Google & Apple Pay, to more traditional options such as checks, bank, or cards. At Pledge, we believe in accommodating the diverse preferences of our donors, while innovating to provide the most seamless and secure giving experience possible. Whether you're making a one-time donation, incorporating recurring giving into your philanthropic goals, or fundraising for your nonprofit, we have listed below our wide range of options to give. The choice is yours to make! 👏

1. Venmo

Our most recent addition includes the ability to now donate through Venmo! With over 83 million users, Venmo has become a popular platform for all transactions. Remarkably, this figure only includes US adults, making it even more impressive. Furthermore, 35% of Venmo's user base falls within the 18 to 29 age range. For nonprofits aiming to engage younger donors, incorporating Venmo into your fundraising strategy can be highly beneficial. This feature is available for US donors only and does not accept recurring giving.

2. PayPal

With PayPal, you can seamlessly make donations without the need to input your card details. When you choose PayPal as your payment method on Pledge's donation form, you'll be effortlessly redirected to your PayPal account. This allows for easy transactions in multiple currencies, just like our donation form – from anywhere in the world. Giving donors the flexibility to use their PayPal account is an excellent way to reach more donors across the world, as by the end of 2022, their user base worldwide reached over 430 million! Amazing, right? While this option is available globally, it does not accept recurring payments.

3. Crypto Donations

Expand your donation options and embrace diversity by accepting over 130 major cryptocurrencies through Pledge. Say goodbye to the hassle of conversions, as our platform automates the process seamlessly. You won't need to worry about risks or dealing with complicated paperwork, as all donations are conveniently converted into regular currency. And here's the exciting part: we hold an issued patent that ensures every crypto donation contributes to verified carbon offset projects supported by the United Nations Climate Neutral Now Initiative. Experience the simplicity of making a significant impact with just a few clicks with these convenient payment methods. By creating a fundraiser through Pledge, every donation form is Apple Pay & Google Pay enabled, giving users an even faster checkout & the ability to accept recurring giving– supporting causes has never been more accessible!

5. Card

In addition to our diverse range of options, we gladly accept all card payments through our Pledge donation forms. Whether you prefer using a debit or credit card, you can donate conveniently with your preferred method. We support major card networks such as VISA, Mastercard, American Express, JCB, Discover, UnionPay, and Diners Club. It's important to note that, unlike other fundraising platforms when you donate with a credit card, the nonprofit receives 100% of your donation. We cover the 3% credit card fee associated with these types of donations for all donations up to $1,000, as part of our commitment to #FreeTheFee. Learn more about this initiative here.
