Overview

Ariana Grande launched a fundraiser campaign on Transgender Day of Visibility 2022 to support nonprofits providing direct services and advocating for the rights of trans youth. She announced the campaign on Instagram and committed to matching all funds raised up to $1.5 million. In partnership with her team, we created the Protect & Defend Trans Youth Fund consisting of 18 organizations hand-selected by Ariana Grande and powered her campaign that mobilized her global audience to join her in this mission.

The Challenge

In the height of hundreds of bills pending in state legislature targeting trans youth, Ariana Grande felt the urgency to engage her following and react to these issues. She wanted to support multiple organizations advocating for the rights of trans youth in states currently targeted by anti-trans policies, ensure that the donations were evenly split among the group and have easy, turnkey ways to promote the campaign to her following. She also wanted to match up to $1.5M in donations made.

The Solution

Fundraiser Page Text-To-Donate

Ariana Grande's team found that Pledge could meet all their needs and more! Together they set-up a custom fund consisting of 18 curated nonprofits to benefit from the campaign, so that every donation would be split evenly among them. The campaign was launched via social media and included a clear call-to-action that was promoted by Ariana Grande, many of her followers worldwide, as well as the nonprofit beneficiaries. Anyone could support the campaign by texting PLEDGE to 707070 or visiting a custom URL (pledge.to/protect-defend-trans-youth-fund).
