United Nations Sustainable Development Goals

Species Saviour Initiative (SSI) supports Life on Land (SDG 15) by working with Indigenous and local communities to protect wildlife, restore degraded forests and rangelands, and care for ecosystems that people depend on. We contribute to Climate Action (SDG 13) by using nature-based solutions to help communities adapt to climate change while strengthening the health of land and natural resources. Our work also supports No Poverty (SDG 1) by helping communities build sustainable livelihoods linked to responsible natural resource use. By promoting sustainable harvesting and ethical value chains, SSI advances Responsible Consumption and Production (SDG 12). Through strengthening community governance and local decision-making, we contribute to Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions (SDG 16) by reducing resource-based conflict and supporting long-term environmental stewardship
