Our Mission

VHSAR's mission is to alleviate the suffering of homeless, neglected, and abused animals living on the small Puerto Rican island of Vieques. This mission is accomplished by: offering temporary shelter and veterinary care to homeless and surrendered dogs and cats maintaining a low-cost community veterinary clinic re-homing adoptable animals both on the island and through an active transport program controlling and maintaining the health of the island's dog/cat populations through spay- neuter-vaccinate programs
