REFUGYM is a community gym, led by the refugee community, for the refugee community. We empower asylum seekers living in camps in Greece to use their own knowledge, skills and passions to lead a sports programme, in order to help improve camp residents' mental and physical wellbeing.
Alongside running a sports programme inside the camp itself, we also place an emphasis on providing opportunities outside the camp setting. Through local partnerships, we provide escapism activities for asylum seekers, including professional basketball training, football matches, hiking trips, and watersports lessons including swimming, windsurfing and stand-up paddle boarding (SUP).
