Our Mission

Rivanimal was founded in 2011 as a non-profit organisation to help the animals in the area of Rivas, Madrid. Since then, the organisation has grown and has taken over the CIPAR Mary Telby pound in Rivas-Vaciamadrid and they also look after the CPAM pound in Parla. They rescue, foster, rehabilitate and re-home whatever animal comes through their doors. As well as running the pounds they have a network of foster homes across Madrid and they also work with paid residence for special cases or animals that are more difficult to be rehomed. They do a lot of work with TNR (trapping, neutering and releasing feral cats) as well as running campaigns promoting responsible adoption, neutering and ownership, and workshops. They are a part of FAPAM, and help with large-scale rescues from illegal breeders and other dangerous situations too. Currently, in the pounds, they have:

61 dogs 70 cats 18 exotic animals (2 turtles, 2 roosters, 4 pigeons, a lovebird, 2 rats, 4 gerbils, a hamster, a goose and a cockatoo)

In foster homes they have: 65 dogs 121 cats 26 exotic animals (mostly birds, rabbits and hamsters)

In paid residence they have: 2 cats 10 dogs 49 farm animals
