The mission of the Louisa Humane Society is to improve the quality of life for the homeless and abandoned animals of Louisa County; and to provide a clean, safe environment for these unwanted animals while making every effort to place adoptable animals into new, loving, responsible homes.

Panhandle Humane Society operates a community animal shelter that provides a nurturing, “fear‑free” environment for animals in its care using the Five Freedoms model; it focuses on animal welfare, adoptions, intake of strays/surrenders, and community services such as microchipping and licensing.

Massachusetts Humane Society rescues and shelters homeless, neglected, and mistreated animals, operating as a no‑kill, volunteer‑driven organization. They provide medical care, adoption placement, low‑cost spay/neuter assistance, and sanctuary/long‑term care for animals that are not adoptable.

Melrose Humane Society is an all‑volunteer 501(c)(3) cat rescue that cares for abandoned and homeless cats, places adoptable cats through Petfinder and at a local PetSmart, and raises funds to provide food, litter and veterinary care for its rescues.

Founded in 1889, Portsmouth Humane Society is the oldest continually operating animal welfare organization in the Commonwealth. Our mission is to provide shelter, care, and treatment to homeless animals in the City of Portsmouth community through permanent adoptions, spay/neuter programs, and community education.

THE ORGANIZATION OPERATES A SHELTER, ADOPTS ANIMALS TO THE PUBLIC, PROMOTES THE SPAY/NEUTER OF PETS, PROVIDES EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS AND MATERIALS TO THE PUBLIC, AND INVESTIGATES AND PURSUES PROSECUTION OF REPORTS OF ANIMAL CRUELTY/NEGLECT.

Cherryland Humane Society is a no-kill animal shelter in Traverse City that provides temporary care, medical attention, and behavioral support for dogs and cats while working to place them in responsible, loving permanent homes; it also promotes animal welfare and community education.

Our Mission is to promote and provide for the humane treatment of cats and dogs in Forsyth County. In support of our mission, the Forsyth Humane Society (FHS) is committed to achieving a save rate of 90 percent for shelter animals in our County. Forsyth Humane Society has set a goal of reducing the euthanasia rate in Forsyth County from 64 percent in 2017 to 10 percent by 2023. The Forsyth Humane Society will achieve this goal through: Education – FHS will educate the public about the importance of spaying/neutering pets and will provide affordable spay/neuter options to decrease the number of shelter animals living in Forsyth County. Outreach – FHS will support people who want to keep their beloved animals in their homes, but need help with food, vet bills, pet supplies, or training and behavioral resources. Foster – FHS will provide foster care for adoptable animals when shelter space is limited or when animals require specialized care to become adoptable, such as very young puppies and kittens, or animals healing from medical issues. Adoption – FHS will find safe, loving homes for each animal in the adoption program. Regardless of the animal's age, breed or length of stay in the shelter, they will remain in the FHS program until a “forever" home is located. Care – FHS respects the life of every animal. We will provide physical and emotional care to each animal that comes through our doors.

The mission of the Watauga Humane Society is to provide the following: -A well-equipped and appropriately staffed facility where the citizens of Watauga County can bring unwanted and abandoned animals; -Relief of suffering among animals; -Provisions for food, shelter, medical care, and love to homeless animals while they await permanent homes; -Assistance with control of unwanted animals by offering low-cost spay/neuter services; -Education to the public about responsible animal ownership and care. Watauga Humane Society serves Watauga County, NC and to a lesser extent the 5 county region that includes Caldwell, Avery, Ashe, Wilkes and Watauga Counties.

They are dedicated to helping all stray, abandoned, and abused animals in Klamath County and to controlling the overpopulation of pets through education and spay / neuter programs. We strive to teach principles of kindness and humane treatment by educating the public regarding animal care and the prevention of pet overpopulation.

Midland Humane Coalition rescues homeless cats and dogs at risk of euthanasia, provides medical care and rehabilitation, and places animals into permanent homes through adoption and community programs. They operate an adoption center and the Mabee Animal Rescue Center to reduce euthanasia in the Midland area.

The Humane Society feeds and cares for homeless and unwanted animals in the Casper and surrounding areas. We provide medical care, shelter and love to those who have been abandoned, lost, or surrendered to us. We educate people on the proper care and ownership of animals and the importance of spaying and neutering
