The Freshwater Trust protects and restores freshwater ecosystems. Founded in 1983, The Freshwater Trust accelerates the pace and scale of freshwater restoration through the use of science, technology and incentive-based solutions to restore rivers on a timeline that matters. With headquarters in Portland, Oregon, The Freshwater Trust continues to grow its impact and currently works in Oregon, Idaho and California. In 2013, the Trust received the U.S. Water Prize for its innovative solutions to restore rivers and streams in the Pacific Northwest.

Habitat Acquisition Trust (HAT) works in partnership with governments, non-profits, communities, schools and landowners to enhance habitat protection on public and private land - making everyone part of the solution! Established in 1996, HAT's mandate is to protect natural environments on southern Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands, a spectacular part of Canada in the south-west corner of British Columbia. This is a special part of Canada where the warm, mild climate is home to species and habitats that cannot be found elsewhere in Canada - and some of these ecosystems and species are the most endangered in the country. A disproportionate number of BC's threatened and endangered species occur in the region, which also has a disproportionate amount of BC's private lands. Our mission is three-pronged. Conservation: Create significant and sustainable environmental change, specifically focusing on climate change, water conservation, food security, waste recycling, sustainable energy, preservation of endangered fauna and flora and greening projects that incorporate poverty alleviation and sustainable livelihoods. Education: Increase capacity and expertise of the southern African environment community, by transferring skills, providing mentorship and building supportive networks for the development and sustainability of the environment sector. Innovation: Use modern technology (e.g. GIS) capacity to enhance conservation efforts and to pioneer socio-ecological approaches to protected area management.
