Caring Hearts For Canines (CHFC) Is A 501(C)3 Non-Profit Canine Rescue Organization, Based In Southern Pines, North Carolina In Moore County. CHFC Was Founded In 2014 By Jennifer Johnston Chopping In An Effort To Save Dogs From High Kill Shelters That Would Otherwise Be Euthanized. North Carolina Has One Of The Highest Rates Of Euthanasia In Shelters, And A High Stray Population Due To The Lack Of Spay And Neuter Legislation. The Mission Of Caring Hearts For Canines Is To Rescue And Re-Home Dogs At Risk Of Being Euthanized In High Kill Shelters, Neglect, Abuse And To Educate The Public In Order To Decrease The Proliferation Of These Unwanted Dogs. Caring Hearts For Canines Strives To Save As Many Dogs As Possible And Give Them A Life Filled With The Love And The Compassion They Deserve. Working Dogs For Warriors is a 501(c)(3) Non profit Organization, Dedicated to helping our Nation's Warriors by Training and Donating Service dogs to Veterans and First Responders.

Snakes are threatened by many of the same issues that affect all wildlife, including habitat loss, climate change, and disease. But negative attitudes toward snakes may be the biggest barrier to their conservation because it often impedes efforts to address other threats. Freedom for Great Apes is a sanctuary specifically designed to provide a safe haven dedicated to the physical, social, behavioral, and psychological well-being of chimpanzees in captivity. We are dedicated to overcoming exploitation and cruelty that all captive great apes face with education, advocacy, and collaboration.

Triangle Chance for All's mission is to rescue farmed animals who end up in county shelters in the Triangle region of North Carolina to assure they do not go back into the for-profit agricultural system. We will endeavor to provide or secure them with permanent sanctuary while we work to end the exploitation of non-human animals by promoting a vegan lifestyle.

Rescue For Pet Sake is an all-volunteer nonprofit group dedicated to saving homeless and abandoned animals from euthanasia. We give them a second chance to find a forever home. We all deserve a second chance. Rescue For Pet Sake places non-aggressive dogs into temporary foster homes where they are socialized, spay/neutered, vaccinated, and treated for any medical or behavioral conditions which would otherwise limit their adoptability. To fund medical care and promote adoptions for the homeless animals at the Agoura Animal Care Center.Healthcare for Homeless Animals (HHA) is a community-based, 501(c)3 non-profit organization run by volunteers who receive no compensation. The organization is dedicated to funding vital care and compassionate support to at-risk animals (sick, injured, and un-weaned) at the Agoura Animal Care Center. Our mission is to ensure that every animal in the Center has access to necessary medical treatment, rehabilitation, supportive care, and the chance to find a loving forever home. We advocate for animal welfare, good health and second chances.

The Center for Coastal Studies conducts scientific research with emphasis on marine mammals of the western North Atlantic and on the coastal and marine habitats and resources of the Gulf of Maine. We promote stewardship of coastal and marine ecosystems and conduct educational activities that encourage responsible use and conservation. We collaborate with other institutions and individuals whenever possible to advance our mission.

Healing Paws for Warriors is a veteran founded / veteran led 501(c)(3) that provides rescue-to trained ADA certified service dogs to veterans faced with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Military Sexual Trauma (MST) at “no cost” to the veteran with continued support. Our team is comprised of a combat medical war veteran, practicing PTSD therapist, professional service dog trainer, a veterinarian, and many other supportive volunteers. Our dogs come only from local rescues. Our service dog trainer teaches the dogs and the veterans as a team. The dogs are not pets, they are service dogs with the complete protection and rights granted by the American with Disabilities Act.
