Virginia Paws for Pits (VPFP) is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit rescue specializing in "bully breeds", AKA "Pit Bull" type dogs. We pull dogs into our rescue from local shelters as well as various other high kill shelters in Virginia and our neighboring states. We do not have a physical shelter location and rely solely on foster homes to house and care for our dogs. Once our dogs are placed in an approved foster home, their dedicated foster families continue to house and care for them until they are adopted. On average, we usually have anywhere from 50-70 dogs in our care.
