The organization rescues, provides medical care for, rehabilitates, and places at-risk dogs into vetted foster and adoptive homes; it operates as a mostly foster-based rescue (no public shelter) and raises funds to cover urgent medical and rehabilitation needs while promoting responsible pet care.

It is the mission statement of Where the Love Is, Inc. to aid in the prevention of the abuse and cruelty of animals, within the meaning of section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, by promoting the adoption of abandoned and unwanted pets; providing medical attention, including spaying and neutering, when required; and other activities that are in accordance with the charitable, religious, educational and/or scientific purposes under section 501(c)(3).

The Animal Protection League runs Anderson’s animal shelter operations and provides care, adoption services, spay/neuter programs, education, and community outreach to reduce animal suffering and find permanent homes. Their work focuses on making “second chances” possible through the human–animal connection.

Tails From The City is an all-volunteer, no‑kill rescue that rescues, rehabilitates, and rehomes abandoned, abused, neglected and homeless animals (primarily cats and kittens) in northeast Ohio. They operate adoption/foster programs, provide veterinary care and education, and partner with other local rescues to place animals in permanent homes.

Orphans of the Storm is a non-profit, 501c3, located in Armstrong County. They were established in 1969 to provide temporary shelter for unwanted and abused animals. They match lovable animals with loving forever homes, educate the public on humane, responsible care of all animals, and promote spaying and neutering to reduce companion animal overpopulation. Orphans of the Storm is a no-kill animal shelter. This means they euthanize an animal only if it is suffering with no hope to be cured, or if the animal is a danger to people or other animals. ​

CatNap from the Heart is dedicated to finding the right home for each animal that is entrusted to our care and educating the community about the importance of spay/neuter.

The Sato Project is dedicated to rescuing abused and abandoned dogs from Puerto Rico. There are currently an estimated 650,000 stray dogs roaming the island’s streets and beaches. We are dedicated to rescue, rehabilitation and adoption as well as tackling the overpopulation crisis on the island through our spay/neuter/vaccine program, Operation Sato. The Sato Project depends on your donations to rescue abused and abandoned dogs in Puerto Rico.

To take responsibility for each and every orphaned, abandoned, abused or neglected dog and cat which reaches our doors; to take them in and shelter them; to provide the best medical and physical care possible for them; to nurture them back to health if need be; and finally to place them into warm, loving, adoptive homes where they can enjoy the lives they deserve.

HEARTT Animal Refuge is a 100% volunteer, No-Kill animal refuge and adoption center. They rescue abandoned and abused cats and dogs, provide them with a home and good medical care until they are adopted. They are strong supporters of neuter/spay.

Busch Wildlife Sanctuary rescues, medically treats, rehabilitates, and (when possible) releases sick, injured, or orphaned native Florida wildlife while providing curriculum-based environmental education to the public. The organization aims to promote conservation and stewardship of Florida’s native habitats and species through hands-on programs and community outreach.

The National Humane Society (The NHS) is a 501 © (3) Non-Profit Tax Exempt Charity organization dedicated to improving the lives of rescue animals across America. We stand with shelters and humane societies around the country in the mission to find abandoned animals homes and to help rectify the over-population crisis of dogs and cats in the US. Through our efforts each year, and through the generous donations of our supporters, the National Humane Society aids and assists in funding individual shelters to give volunteers and the animals they serve a fighting chance of making a change. We actively support and engage with communities to improve perceptions of adopting animals, and to protect the animals in question. Our belief is that through education and conversation, we can be the change needed for animals around the country.
