Wild Horse Education

Wild Horse Education is a tiny, all-volunteer organization with a very strong track record in educating the public, media, other advocacy groups and managing agencies for changes in the way wild horses and burros are managed on public land. Our group photographs and documents current range conditions, prepares reports for inclusion in conversations dealing with government agencies to taking that documentation into a courtroom when other avenues for discussion fail. Wild Horse Education led the way in gaining an enforceable humane handling policy, reforming the way wild horse and burro populations are managed on the range (minimizing removal and managing on the range), improving the adoption program, as well as protecting wild horses and burros from slaughter.

Raptor Education Group

Raptor Education Group, Inc is a 501 (C)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the care and rehabilitation of injured or orphaned native bird species and public education of wildlife issues.Our goals include creating a safe haven for injured wildlife while they heal and until they are ready to be released back into the wild, to develop protocol, rehabilitation methods, and husbandry based on the natural history of the bird to assure a successful release, and to create a broader understanding of native birds, their behavior and habitat needs among the public and the scientific community.

The Global Veterinary Dermatology Education Group (GVDEG) is an independent international group of veterinary dermatologists who are committed to improving the knowledge and practice of veterinary dermatology in underserved areas around the world. Further, EARS is committed to finding homes for unwanted animals that would otherwise perish in shelters. EARS keeps all of its animals in homes with volunteer foster families where the animals are loved and treated like a part of the family until the right permanent home is found.

CARE foster caregivers provide loving, stable homes to homeless cats and dogs, helping them become the best possible pets for their future forever families. CARE works with the Chatham County Animal Shelter to save the lives of unwanted cats and dogs, manages feral cat colonies, and serves as an educational resource. CARE’s Lillie's Fund is a targeted spay/neuter program, subsidizing sterilization surgeries for pets owned by lower income families in Chatham County. CARE is a nonprofit animal welfare organization that has served the community since 1975 and relies on individual and corporate donors for support.
