The mission of Zoo Knoxville is to deliver dynamic guest experiences while inspiring action to save wild animals and wild places. Our vision is to be THE destination for fun, learning and memories that last a lifetime.

TOGETHER, WE CAN FIGHT TO ERASE EXTINCTION. Conservation Nation funds Smithsonian scientists' research to save threatened species in the wild. But, we do much more than that. We're a nation of supporters, including you, that are passionate about wildlife conservation in North America and around the world. Conservation Nation is an initiative of Friends of the National Zoo, the registered 501(c)(3) non-profit partner of the Smithsonian's National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute.

Mission: Ensure a future for wild cats and the vast landscapes on which they depend. Vision: A world where wild cats thrive in healthy natural and developed landscapes that sustain people and biodiversity. Panthera is the only organization in the world that is devoted exclusively to the conservation of the world’s 38 wild cat species and their ecosystems. Utilizing the expertise of the world’s premier cat biologists, Panthera develops and implements global strategies for the most imperiled large cats: tigers, lions, jaguars, snow leopards, cheetahs, pumas, and leopards. Representing the most comprehensive effort of its kind, Panthera partners with local and international NGOs, scientific institutions, local communities, governments around the globe, and citizens who want to help ensure a future for wild cats. Panthera’s grants program, the Small Cat Action Fund (SCAF), additionally supports conservation and research initiatives on many of the 31 smaller wild cat species around the globe.

Phoenix Animal Rescue (PAR) is a non-profit rescue in Chester Springs, PA. Their mission is to renew hope for homeless animals, one day at a time. Their small but dedicated team is united by their love of animals and their passion for saving lives.

Located in Jacksonville, Florida, we serve Duval, Saint Johns, Clay, Nassau and Baker counties. A great deal of our visitors are also international. The mission of Catty Shack Ranch Wildlife Sanctuary is to provide a safe, loving and forever home to endangered big cats and to educate the public about their plight in the wild and captivity. Our primary focus is in the rescue of cats from serious situations. Once an animal is taken in at Catty Shack Ranch, they have a loving, forever home for life. We do not breed, sell, or trade any of our animals. Our current residents include tigers, lions, cougars, leopards, bobcats, arctic foxes, and coatimundis (the last two are “honorary cats").

Wildlife Waystation was founded in 1976 to rescue and provide sanctuary for abandoned, abused or injured wild and exotic animals. Internationally known, the Wildlife Waystation has accepted tigers from Ireland, lions from New Zealand and Canada, and a variety of animals from across the United States, as well as Southern California native wildlife. Every rescue was important and, often life-saving. Over the years, thousands of native wildlife have been rehabilitated and successfully released back into their natural habitat. Thousands more, mostly exotics, have remained at our sanctuary. Here, they are well cared for by animal care staff, veterinarians and dedicated volunteers for the rest of their natural lives. Wildlife Waystation is also the largest chimpanzee sanctuary in the Western United States. Most of the chimpanzees have come from biomedical research facilities. Throughout the Waystation's history, educating the public has been a priority with a goal to preserve wildlife through understanding how to co-exist with native wildlife and why exotic animals do not make good pets. Through community programs, volunteers are available to speak to civic groups, scouts and schools and offer a Ranger Program for young children as well. The Wildlife Waystation continues this educational efforts by participating in community events throughout southern California. Frequently, some or our educational animals are also in attendance, a treat for the public and a way to convey our message.

Established in 1948, Morris Animal Foundation is dedicated to improving and protecting the health of animals through scientific innovation, education and inspiration. Our investment in research has yielded life-saving vaccines, new treatments for critical diseases, superior screening tests, and advanced diagnostic tools. We respond to emerging animal health threats that endanger entire species and make new discoveries in basic animal biology to support applied research. With every study we fund - more than 2,940 to date - we strive to advance the science of veterinary medicine, honoring the founding principles of Dr. Mark L. Morris Sr. to benefit animals worldwide. We are a small rescue group operating in the Massachusetts, New Jersey and the New York area that only rescues dogs from high kill shelters and southern rescues. This means a majority of dogs admitted there are euthanized due to lack of space. We very rarely take in owner surrenders, and do not acquire animals from anywhere else besides these shelters we have worked with for years. When we started the rescue in 2007, our collective mission was clear: save at-risk dogs from high-kill shelters and place them in loving, forever homes for the benefit of the dogs and humans alike. We believe the best way to end pet overpopulation and animal cruelty is a unified front with local shelters, other rescue groups and the community. We were so committed to this that we used to drive 12 hour days to save homeless animals, and bring them back to our houses. Now we use USDA certified transporters, and we are proud to be a 501c3 non-profit agency that saves many lives each year. Dogs In Danger Rescue (we are not dogsindanger.com) is our rescue originally based in Maryland but, since we expanded to 4 other states, we are now DBA East Coast Adoption Agency.

FZS-US protects wildlife and ecosystems focusing on protected areas and outstanding wild places in Africa, South America, Southeast Asia, and Europe.

Keep the Spanish descendant wild horses that have roamed the arroys and foothills of our community for decades healthy and free from capture. Find and maintain a save place for them to live in family groups as they have since they descended from Coronado's encampment in our area centuries ago. Sustain them in winter when grass is scarce and during droughts like we've suffered for the past 8 years. Control herd size humanly and provide veterinary care as needed. Participate with the county and other agencies to find a permanent home in the community to keep them safe from traffic and garner wide spread community support to help the funding of a permanent home where visitor can see and more safely interact with these treasures.
