To significantly reduce the numbers of abandoned pets being euthanized in New Mexico’s municipal facilities, to spay and neuter them so that the numbers of stray pets decrease, to fully vaccinate them to stop the spread of disease, and to train the pets to be successful and loved in their new homes. Saving Wildlife International’s (SWI) mission is to assist people of all ages and cultures in developing an awareness of and commitment to nature that will result in informed decisions and constructive actions concerning wildlife and our environment. Since April 2000, SWI has enthusiastically shared its commitment to wildlife conservation with diverse audiences ranging from school classrooms to national television. Well on its way to becoming a nationally recognized wildlife organization, they are proud to provide displaced animals with a purpose and permanent home. SWI offers wildlife presentations featuring live mammals, birds, reptiles, and amphibians to primary and secondary schools, military bases, homeless shelters, and retirement communities throughout California.

The Humane Farming Association (HFA) - now over 200,000 members strong - is the nation's largest and most effective organization dedicated to the protection of farm animals. Founded in 1985, HFA has gained national recognition and respect through its hard work and its highly-visible, highly-successful campaigns.HFA's goals are: 1) to protect farm animals from cruelty; 2) to protect the public from the dangerous misuse of antibiotics, hormones, and other chemicals used on factory farms; 3) to protect the environment from the impacts of industrialized animal factories.HFA's comprehensive programs include: anti-cruelty investigations and exposs, national media and ad campaigns, direct hands-on emergency care and refuge for abused farm animals, consumer boycotts, legislation, and youth humane education. HFA's National Veal Boycott continues to be the single most successful campaign ever conducted against factory farming. Achieving an unprecedented drop of nearly 70% in the sale of drugged, anemic, and tortured baby calves, HFA's groundbreaking investigations have just resulted in the first-ever felony convictions of veal industry leaders. HFA's efforts against Bovine Growth Hormones have been pivotal in mobilizing the public against this cruel and dangerous dairy hormone. And HFA's campaigns to stop the abuse of millions of pigs, chickens, and other victims of factory farming continue to turn the tide against the abusive factory farm industry. The outstanding work of the Humane Farming Association is regularly featured on network television and nationally-broadcast radio programs such as ABC's PrimeTIME Live, Good Morning America, World News This Morning and CBS' 60 Minutes. HFA's hard-hitting expos?s have appeared in Time, Newsweek, People, U.S. News and World Report, the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, and dozens of other major publications across the country.As HFA makes headlines for its landmark victories and hard-hitting anti-cruelty campaigns, there is another equally meaningful aspect to our work - and that is HFA's Farm Animal Refuge. HFA's Farm Animal Refuge is the largest farm animal rescue facility in the world. Over seven square miles, HFA's Refuge offers hands-on emergency care, rehabilitation, and refuge for abused farm animals. HFA is the only national farm animal protection organization with a shelter that has never turned away farm animals seized as a result of a cruelty case.In 1991, HFA established its political and legislative arm - the Humane Farming Action Fund (HFAF). HFAF is the nation's only political lobbying organization founded exclusively to protect animals raised on farms. HFAF enacts strong and enforceable legislation to outlaw animal abuse and works to ensure that existing anti-cruelty laws are not undermined or weakened by inhumane and unethical meat industry-backed legislation. Florida Wildlife Hospital is open 365 days a year to admit native Florida wildlife. On average, 5,000 animals are admitted per year and there is never a charge for patient care. Our mission is to keep wildlife wild by providing quality, compassionate care. Mission: Wolf connects people with nature using hands-on experiential education. Through volunteer internships and national traveling education programs, we inspire individuals to become stewards of the earth. While providing a home for rescued wolves and horses, we create opportunities for growth through community service and personal interactions with animals. We value education, sustainability, and improving relationships between people, animals, and the world around them.

THE CAPTAIN PAUL WATSON FOUNDATION has been established to promote and further the legacy of Captain Paul Watson. To focus on the protection and conservation of the Ocean through direct intervention supported by education, documentation, research activities and partnerships with other NGOs, governments and international institutions like the United Nations. It will be made up of a small team that will prevent any future interference or dilution of the overall vision of Paul's legacy by keeping management and bureaucracy minimal.

Ensuring the survival and recovery of sea otters (Enhydra lutris) in their habitats by building funds to support research, conservation and education. We focus on enhancing the ability of researchers, scientists, zoological facilities, universities and nonprofits to explore range-wide sea otter ecological studies, educational conservation programs, science and technology advancements as they relate to the sea otter. Additionally, the Foundation educates the general public – locally, nationally and internationally - on the importance and need for sea otter conservation.

Bushlife Conservancy is dedicated to protecting and preserving African wildlife in its native habitat. The most important work we do is anti-poaching and conservation in Mana Pools National Park, which is a UNESCO Natural World Heritage Site, and the Zambezi River Valley of Zimbabwe and Zambia. We also monitor and track iconic bull elephants, develop infrastructure to establish ongoing ranger presence in vulnerable areas, and provide funding to support local community health and welfare needs.

The Piedmont Environmental Council works to safeguard the landscape, communities and heritage of Virginia's Piedmont by involving citizens in related public policy and land conservation. PEC's service area encompasses nine counties of the Piedmont. Our work integrates four mutually interdependent goals and programs:   *Better Define the Piedmont- PEC is creating a sense of place in our communities through engaging activities and the identification and support of our unique assets and history.  * Protect What Can Be Protected: Land Conservation & Watershed Protection - We are protecting threatened land and natural and cultural resources as efficiently as possible through an aggressive and multi-tiered land conservation program.  *Respond to the Forces of Change: Land Use and Transportation- We consistently promote good planning to reduce threats to our region, address issues of local importance, and surmount individual pressures on our historic landscape.  *Direct Growth to the Right Places - We are helping visualize a better future by presenting positive solutions to the problems caused by poorly planned development. These concrete principles recognize that growth is inevitable, but that we can effectively manage the population and economic growth coming to this region and create healthy communities to live, work and play.  PEC also provides direct assistance to those working on parallel missions in neighboring counties. PEC is a founding member and fiscal sponsor for the Coalition for Smarter Growth, an organization extending a parallel mission in Washington DC. PEC also serves as fiscal sponsor for the Shenandoah Valley Network. Additionally, PEC coordinates with many partners across the Commonwealth to address regional issues that affect the Piedmont directly.

Austin Zoo assists animals in need through rescue, rehabilitation and education. Austin Zoo is a private, non-profit "rescue zoo" that is home to over 300 animals. Austin Zoo is a nationally recognized animal rescue facility. Most of the animals at Austin Zoo were confiscated, abandoned, strays, unwanted, neglected and had nowhere else to go. Unfortunately, we must turn away many animals for lack of space (enclosures). We refer these animals to other reputable facilities but most are also full. We have additional land on which to expand and will be doing so in the next several years. We also provide educational opportunities for schools, colleges and universities and youth groups.

Our Mission is to protect bonobos (Pan paniscus), preserve their tropical rainforest habitat, and empower local communities in the Congo Basin. By working with local Congolese people through cooperative conservation and community development programs, and by shaping national and international policy, the Bonobo Conservation Initiative (BCI) is establishing new protected areas and leading efforts to safeguard bonobos wherever they are found. The Bonobo Peace Forest (BPF) is the guiding vision of BCI: a connected network of community-based reserves and conservation concessions, supported by sustainable development. The Peace Forest provides protection for bonobos and other species in the Congo rainforest, while at the same time ensuring a better life for the people who share this precious land.
