Proactively promote and strengthen a social environment that respects human rights, where diversity is recognized as a value, with emphasis on the development of vulnerable groups such as young people, people with HIV, men who have sex with other men, the LGBT community, community of people deprived of their liberty, through the promotion of sports, positive models of coexistence and collaboration with indigenous government institutions and key actors of civil society. Our vision is a leader in the social response to community problems, reinforcing the visibility of diversity in Mexico, and being a benchmark for the development of linkage strategies with local, national and international initiatives in the promotion and defense of human rights and elimination of all types of discrimination, through the positioning of visibility strategies for problems related to vulnerable groups, specifically diversity, and the creation of synergies between the key actors that involve the communities as part of the solution to their needs.

Our mission is to keep the children away from the dangers of the streets. La Banda de Musica helps underprivileged populations in a marginalised neighbourhood of Zaachila Oaxaca, south of Mexico, mainly by providing children with access to cultural activities and in particular to musical education. The goal is to help promote an original form of education, which includes social advancement, strengthening of ties , and a reduction of violence. To achieve this goal, we organize gifts of musical instruments. We raise funds to continue building the music school and pay the salaries of the local music teachers. We dispatch expert musicians or luthiers on site to teach and inspire students.. This exchange of skills will offer projects of lasting autonomy. The association is helping set up repair workshops for musical instruments, and needs tools to assist in the training of young people who can study music and repair their instruments as well. We also offer scholarships to young musicians who demonstrate an ability to study and wish to continue learning music at a university level. A symphony orchestra has been created and is the pride of the neighbourhood THE SANTA CECILIA ORCHESTRA. For the group of children involved, music means cohesion, education and hope.

WereldOuders focuses on the empowerment and personal development of vulnerable children and families in Latin America and the Caribbean. With us, they receive attention and the support that suits them. WereldOuders has a unique approach, based on four pillars: a safe home, health, education and independence. By providing a social safety net while building the children's self-confidence, they regain a future perspective, an opportunity to realize their dreams. WereldOuders has projects in nine countries in Latin America and the Caribbean. These are Bolivia, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua and Peru. A home is the most important safe base for a child. When a home situation is scarred by poverty, addiction, violence or the death of one of the parents, the secure base falls away. WereldOuders and partner organization NPH are committed to creating or restoring a safe home base for children and youth in Latin America. Our vision of "a safe home" has changed significantly over the past years. NPH was founded in Mexico in 1954 with the opening of a children's home for children who had nowhere else to go. The organization continued to expand to include children's homes in the other eight countries. More than 19,000 children found shelter in an NPH home. These homes were called "family homes" by the organization. NPH placed great importance on creating a warm, loving family atmosphere in the homes. No matter how well this worked out, a family home can never replace a real family. With today's knowledge, arising from empirical evidence and in accordance with the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, we recognize the unintended harmful effect that institutionalization has on children and youth. Children and youth become alienated from their families and communities of origin. Stigmas attached to growing up in a children's home lead to (young) adults struggling to find their place in society. Having no family to fall back on makes it difficult to hold your own in society as an "uprooted" adult. 'Our' children can always come to NPH even later in life, but that is an exception in the world of children's homes. Uprootedness in general is a major problem: this group has difficulty raising their own children and keeping them from ending up in crime or on the streets. International child welfare organizations are therefore increasingly focusing on de-institutionalization. NPH, too, is going through this transition. We can and want to do more to really change the situation of families and children. We have to change course. We have therefore started to focus more and more on supporting vulnerable families and communities to prevent families from falling apart. This is not entirely new: since its founding, NPH has supported more than 80,000 children who did not live in an NPH family home.

Establish centers to educate children and youth who are exposed on street risks, which function as spaces for developing positive and constructive ways coexistence and social interaction through human development programs and comprehensive prevention.

Crecemos DIJO is a community base organization that offers holistic early childhood development, education, nutrition and sporting programs to reduce the social inequity of children and youth in the marginalized rural and peri-urban neighborhoods of the state of Oaxaca, Mexico. Crecemos currently reaches over 600 children and 400 mothers. Crecemos DIJO es una organizacion comunitaria que ofrece programas integrales de desarrollo, educacion, nutricion y deportes para la primera infancia para reducir la inequidad social de ninos y jovenes en los barrios marginales rurales y periurbanos del estado de Oaxaca, Mexico. Actualmente, Crecemos llega a mas de 600 ninos y 400 madres.
