Centre international d'art contemporain de Montréal

Aside from the organization of major events, the CIAC has been responsible for the production of an electronic arts magazine, solo exhibitions and a writing contest first intended for students, now opened to the general public. The Centre international d'art contemporain de Montréal, which celebrated twenty years of active commitment in the arts in 2004, has always featured artists from the visual arts, architecture, landscape architecture, graphic and industrial designs, video and film. Since 1984, the centre has presented to a general audience the most prominent figures of the contemporary art scene, allowing over 500,000 people to see and appreciate the work of some 800 artists.

ST. JOHN'S INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S FILM FESTIVAL

The St. John’s International Women’s Film Festival is a charitable organization established in 1989 to support and promote women filmmakers through an annual film festival and various satellite events. This week-long screening series of approximately 75 works by women directors, producers and writers also features a workshop/seminar series (for filmmakers, the general public, and youth), industry forum, galas, receptions and other networking events. This dynamic event attracts thousands of film industry players and enthusiasts from around the province, Canada, and the world. With a highly dedicated volunteer board of ten directors at the helm, the Festival also employs a full-time Executive Director, as well as other part-time staff, and taps into a pool of 80 enthusiastic volunteers each year.

TRIP - The Road To International Passages

T.R.I.P. – The Road to International Passages — is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization to benefit inner-city youth and underprivileged kids between the ages of 11 and 14 years old. Both historically and presently, underprivileged youth do not have the financial means to travel abroad due to their family’s limited financial and social resources. In T.R.I.P., youth will be able to study and explore a plethora of different cultures through a multi-faceted curriculum designed to incorporate language, world culture, history, current events, and financial numeracy. Each summer, the students will have the opportunity to research, through inquiry-based projects, and travel to a foreign country through a sponsorship provided through our organization. T.R.I.P.’s vision is to both advocate for, and assure, youth are exposed to the history, demographics, local currency, and beauty of many different cultures of the world in an effort to broaden each student’s individual worldview.

THE WORKS INTERNATIONAL VISUAL ARTS SOCIETY

The Works International Visual Arts Society advances the development, awareness and appreciation of art and design in Canada and provides artists, designers and the public a forum for exchanging ideas. The Works Art & Design Festival, entering its 27th year, is the most unique, free event of its kind. It attracts artists, designers and patrons from around the world – boosting the city’s energy and imagination for 13 days each summer. The best in cutting-edge design, digital art and new media technology are showcased alongside traditional visual art mediums in galleries transformed from alternative spaces. Visitors also participate in workshops and seminars about the exciting changes and arising issues in art and design. Edmonton enjoys The Works Society’s programs year-round through its education programs and the Art & Design in Public Places Program which leaves permanent art and design in public places.

TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival Inc)

A multi-faceted cultural organization TIFF provides a myriad of programming for all to enjoy. These programmes include: The Toronto International Film Festival, TIFF Cinematheque, TIFF Kids, TIFF Next Wave, Film Circuit, The Film Reference Library, Reel Talk, Canada's Top Ten and TIFF Industry. With our belief, film has the power to change the world, TIFF has extensive learning programmes and outreaches to under-served communities. Through sustained support TIFF is able to create opportunities for more students at the elementary, secondary and post–secondary level. Believing that cinema can be broad and inclusive, TIFF seeks to engage people of all ages, backgrounds and interests, to ignite in them the appreciation and passion TIFF possess for the moving image. As such, TIFF is committed to creating free accessible programming for everyone throughout the year. TIFF remains committed to educating and broadening audiences adding to the cultural richness of Canada’s community.

Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival

The mandate of Reel Asian is to produce a public film and video festival as well as other screenings throughout the year for the purposes of educating and advancing the public’s understanding and appreciation of the historical, social and cultural contributions of people of Asian and Asian Canadian heritage, and to educate artists through participation in such events and related professional development programming. Reel Asian’s annual programming exemplifies the range, diversity and richness of Asian film and video in all their forms. In showcasing the finest, in some instances underrepresented, work by and about East, Southeast, South Asian, Asian North American and Asian diasporic artists and themes, the festival aims to foster and to enhance the visibility, creation, dissemination and understanding of Asian and Asian Canadian contributions to the film and video arts, and to local, provincial, national, and transnational cultural communities.
