Founded in 1950 as an alternative to sign language education, the Montreal Oral School for the Deaf is the first and only school of its kind in Montreal and is one of only three in all of Canada. With the use of technology - hearing aids and cochlear implants - the school provides habilitation, education and support for children with hearing loss from infancy to early adulthood. The school's multidisciplinary approach ensures students and their families receive free of charge linguistic, cognitive, social and emotional support in specialized school settings, in neighborhood schools and at home.
Centaur Theatre has been Quebec's leading English-language theatre for over 40 years. Each season, over 60,000 spectators are inspired, challenged and entertained by our 250 presentations. We are the only English-language theatre to win the prestigious Grand Prix, Theatre Category from the Conseil des arts de Montréal. PACS is a service organisation established in 1984 for Christian Schools in the Canadian prairies. We are a Community of 15 Christian school societies in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba which represents 5,285 students. We provide leadership and support services for our member school societies in the areas of curriculum and school development.
The Shaw Ocean Discovery Centre is an aquarium and marine education centre focused on the amazing ecosystem of the Salish Sea. It houses 17 massive aquarium habitats teeming with live marine life –- giant Pacific octopus to microscopic plankton. Over 250 volunteers, known as 'Oceaneers', guide visitors through the marine habitats, provide in-depth knowledge of exhibits, and assist with school programs for thousands of students each year. The Centre operates as a not-for-profit community facility that is self-supporting through admission fees, grants and donations. It is located on the spectacular waterfront in Sidney, British Columbia.
