Founded in 2001 the National Multicultural Western Heritage Museum acknowledges the multicultural contributions of Hispanic Americans, Native Americans, European Americans, and African Americans in the settlement of the American frontier. Works of artists and others who documented people and events of the time via journals, photographs, and other historical items are part of the museum's collection of overlooked materials that tell — often for the first time — the complete story of how the West was won. Through various educational programs (e.g., storytelling sessions, "Forgotten Cowboys Tour," cultural heritage workshops, historical reenactments, participatory learning) at the museum and in the community, the Museum shares our multicultural western heritage while instilling positive values of diversity, tolerance, hard-work, and determination. Visitors to the museum and at our traveling exhibitions leave with an awareness that the American West came into being through the struggles and triumphs of racially and socio-economically diverse people.

Honoring the compassion and dedication of the funeral services industry has been the Museums mission since it began in 1992. Today, the Museum continues to enlighten visitors on one of man's oldest cultural rituals and celebrate the heritage of the funeral services industry.

Through extraordinary exhibitions and experiences, they tell stories of freedom and identity, family and community, human rights and dignity. Their stories connect yesterday with today and tomorrow.

PROMOTION OF MEXICAN ART

Our mission is to mobilize local community members, grassroots non-profit organizations, and NGOs from a variety of sectors, and encourage them to work together in order to promote a sustainable and responsible future.

The museum preserves and interprets America’s industrial heritage through exhibits, programs, and collections that highlight the machines, people, and ideas that shaped U.S. industry, and it works to educate and inspire future innovators.

TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF BLACKS IN MANAGEMENT POSITIONS, TO ENCOURAGE AND EDUCATE YOUNG BLACKS INTERESTED IN PURSUING A JOURNALISM CAREER, AND TO MONITOR AND SENSITIZE ALL MEDIA TO RACISM.

NBAF’s mission is to expose, educate, engage and entertain audiences by presenting and supporting art and artists of African descent.
